Strive Adds $335 Million in Bitcoin to Corporate Treasury

Published

on

Nasdaq-listed Strive purchased 4,045 BTC between October 12 and 16, 2026, at an average price of roughly $82,803 per coin (including fees and expenses), for a total of approximately $335 million. The purchase lifted its holdings to 36,818 BTC, valued above $3 billion at prevailing prices and up from 32,773 BTC a week earlier. The weekly total comprised 2,822 BTC acquired on October 12–13 and an additional 1,223 BTC bought on October 14–16 at an average of about $81,734.

The acquisition was funded in part by recent capital raises. Warrant exercises on October 12 and 13 generated approximately $369.2 million in gross proceeds and resulted in the issuance of about 13.7 million new Class A shares. Separately, Strive priced a roughly $630 million offering of its 15% SATS preferred stock, with settlement expected on October 20. The company also reported holding cash and shares of Strategy’s STRC preferred stock alongside its Bitcoin position.

Strive joins the growing list of public companies treating Bitcoin as a primary treasury asset amid ongoing institutional adoption. It ranks among the largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holders (fourth by some tallies). The latest purchase continues a pattern of rapid accumulation through 2026, financed primarily through equity and preferred issuance rather than operating cash flow. The move reinforces corporate demand supporting Bitcoin in the $80,000–$83,000 range during a period of mixed ETF flows and macro volatility.

Mastercard Advances AI Agent Payments

Published

on

Mastercard opened early access and demonstrated live transactions for its Agent Pay for Machines system. The platform allows AI agents to discover services, negotiate terms, and execute payments within human-defined spending limits and permissions. At Cloudflare Connect, the company demoed an AI agent running a sample ad campaign that completed nine payments to two merchants on a single approved budget, settling via partners including Coinbase, Base, and BVNK in fiat or stablecoins.

Built on the open x402 protocol (which uses the HTTP 402 “Payment Required” response), the system relies on digitally signed “payment vouchers” that an agent generates when it encounters a paid service. A business sets the task and spending cap; the agent then operates within those bounds. Early access provides developers with the first buyer- and seller-side APIs, a toolkit, sandbox, and documentation. End-to-end pilots involved partners including Cloudflare, Ant International, AIsa, Base, BVNK, Coinbase, and Hype. The system supports high-frequency, low-value transactions across cards, bank accounts, and stablecoins.

The company also highlighted related work on stablecoin security risk scoring. Mastercard’s Stablecoin Security tool, unveiled around the same period at Money20/20, combines payment and blockchain intelligence to generate risk scores for fraud, scams, and sanctions exposure before funds move on-chain. Together, these efforts expand the infrastructure for machine-to-machine and autonomous agent commerce—an emerging narrative intersecting crypto, AI, and traditional payments. The focus remains on trust layers (identity, intent, controls, and execution) so agents can transact securely while humans retain authority.
