Bitmine Accumulates to 4.8% of Ethereum Supply; Jane Street Discloses Large BTC ETF Holdings
Tom Lee’s Bitmine Immersion Technologies increased its Ethereum holdings to approximately 4.8% of total circulating supply after purchasing nearly 10,000 ETH in the latest reported week. The treasury vehicle now holds roughly 5.815 million ETH, valued at about $11 billion, and remains on track toward its stated target of 5% of supply. A large portion of the position is staked, and the company has continued its consistent accumulation strategy alongside share buybacks under its authorized program.
Separately, quantitative trading firm Jane Street disclosed nearly $1 billion in Bitcoin spot ETF holdings as of the end of the second quarter. The position is concentrated primarily in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), with additional exposure across products such as Fidelity’s FBTC and Grayscale’s GBTC. The filing provides visibility into institutional positioning via regulated vehicles and comes after reports of a significant monthly loss in other areas of Jane Street’s trading book.
These moves illustrate continued large-scale accumulation by specialized crypto treasury vehicles and traditional trading firms even amid mixed price action and prior ETF outflows. Bitmine’s steady ETH buying highlights sustained conviction in Ethereum as a core treasury asset, while Jane Street’s sizable regulated Bitcoin exposure underscores the ongoing role of market makers and authorized participants in the ETF complex. Together the disclosures reinforce that institutional-scale capital continues to engage with major crypto assets through both direct treasury strategies and exchange-traded products.
