TRON Q3 2026 Report: $2.21 Trillion in Stablecoin Settlement Volume

Published

on

TRON’s State of TRON Q3 2026 report, released in mid-October, highlighted $2.21 trillion (precisely $2.2126 trillion) in stablecoin settlement volume for the July–September period, a 5.1% increase from $2.106 trillion in Q2. Average daily settlement volume rose 3.9% to $24.05 billion, underscoring the network’s continued role as a major venue for high-volume stablecoin transfers, particularly USDT.

The report also recorded broader network growth. TRON processed approximately 1.1 billion transactions during the quarter, up 33.7% year over year, while average monthly active addresses increased 9.8% to 18 million. Cumulative transaction volume on the network surpassed $30 trillion by September 23. Combined USDT and USDD supply on TRON reached $93.88 billion at quarter-end, up 5.5% quarter over quarter and 14.9% year over year, and stood near $95.3 billion by mid-October. Total value locked including staking was $28.21 billion, with DeFi TVL excluding staking at $13.05 billion.

Network fees totaled $701.4 million for the quarter (averaging $7.62 million per day), a 4% decline from Q2, with the average daily transaction fee falling to $0.643 from $0.668. TRON also accounted for roughly $998 million, or 23.2%, of stablecoin card transaction volume across networks. The quarter saw new custody, staking, trading, payment, and developer integrations, along with the September 9 launch of Canary Capital’s TRX-linked TRXS ETF.

On the CMC snapshot around October 12, TRX traded relatively stably near $0.3287–$0.330, with a market capitalization of approximately $31.2 billion and only minor daily changes, ranking in the top 10 by market cap. The figures align with the broader dominance of stablecoins in crypto activity: on the same day, USDT’s market cap stood near $184 billion and USDC near $73 billion. While the report points to sustained adoption for payments and settlement, fee compression and stable TRX price action indicate that network usage growth has not translated into proportional upward pressure on the native token.

Bitcoin Drops Below $81,000 as Hotter U.S. CPI Revives Rate-Hike Fears and Asian Equities Tumble

Published

on

Bitcoin fell sharply below $81,000 in early Asian trading on October 15, 2026, extending losses after a hotter-than-expected U.S. September CPI report. Headline inflation rose to 3.7% year-over-year versus forecasts near 3.6% (and up from 3.4% in August), with core CPI also firming to 2.6%. Gasoline prices jumped 9.1% on the month and accounted for more than half of the headline increase, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The print prompted traders to reprice the probability of a Federal Reserve rate increase at the late-October meeting, with odds briefly spiking near 50% before moderating toward the mid-20% to 30% range on some platforms.

The macro shock hit risk assets broadly. South Korea’s Kospi plunged as much as 7.5–8% in morning trade, with major chip stocks leading declines, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell around 5%. Bitcoin traded near $80,764 (down roughly 3.6% over 24 hours in some reports), with intraday lows near $80,400–$80,580. Ether fell more sharply, around 6.5% to near $2,353. Solana and XRP each shed roughly 4–5%, and Zcash underperformed among major assets. Liquidations across major venues reached hundreds of millions of dollars, predominantly long positions.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows of roughly $150–$261 million on October 14 (sources varied between about $150.5 million and $261 million), reversing prior inflows and underscoring fragile institutional demand after the previous week’s roughly $681 million in redemptions. Total Bitcoin ETF net assets remained near $105 billion.

Analysts noted that the stronger inflation data reinforced “higher-for-longer” rate concerns, weighing on liquidity and risk appetite. Bitcoin’s correlation with equities remained elevated amid the Asian selloff. While some traders eyed support near $80,000–$81,300, the combination of macro data, ETF flows, and regional equity weakness kept sentiment defensive heading into further U.S. releases (PPI, retail sales, Beige Book) and the Fed’s October 27–28 decision window. The September CPI was the last major inflation reading before that meeting, following the Fed’s September hike to a 3.75%–4.00% target range.
