TOKEN2049 Singapore Positions Itself as the Year’s Largest Industry Gathering

Published

on

TOKEN2049 returns to Marina Bay Sands on 7–8 October 2026 as the sole major edition of the year after the Dubai event was postponed to 2027. Organizers project 25,000 attendees drawn from more than 7,000 companies across 160 countries, alongside 500-plus exhibitors, 300-plus speakers and over 1,000 side events. The conference will occupy all five floors of the venue and emphasizes bridging traditional finance with digital assets, with elevated institutional participation expected from firms including BlackRock, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Nasdaq, NYSE, CME and Franklin Templeton.

Year-over-Year Growth in Scale

Singapore editions have expanded steadily:

  • 2022: Approximately 7,000 attendees.
  • 2023: Roughly 10,000 attendees.
  • 2024: 20,000 attendees, more than 400 exhibitors and around 800 side events. High-profile speakers included Vitalik Buterin, Anatoly Yakovenko, Edward Snowden, Balaji Srinivasan and Arthur Hayes.
  • 2025: Sold-out record of 25,000 attendees from over 160 countries, 500-plus exhibitors, 300-plus speakers and approximately 1,000 side events. The roster featured Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Vlad Tenev (Robinhood), Paolo Ardoino (Tether), Tom Lee and continued strong representation from major exchanges and protocols.
  • 2026: Matching the 25,000-attendee level with similar exhibitor and side-event counts, while shifting further toward institutional depth. More than 70% of the exhibition floor was already secured by early August.

The consistent rise in attendance, company participation and floor space reflects TOKEN2049’s evolution from a large industry conference into a festival-scale gathering that dominates the annual calendar when the Dubai edition is absent.

Expanding Speaker and Institutional Base

The 2026 speaker list underscores the growing convergence of crypto-native builders and traditional finance leaders. The first 100 confirmed names include Adena Friedman (Chair and CEO of Nasdaq), Jenny Johnson (CEO of Franklin Templeton), Shayne Coplan (Founder and CEO of Polymarket), Jeff Yan (CEO of Hyperliquid Labs), Eric Trump, Raoul Pal, Tom Lee, Star Xu (OKX), Richard Teng (Binance), Joseph Lubin (Consensys), Stani Kulechov (Aave), Lily Liu (Solana Foundation President), Balaji Srinivasan and Arthur Hayes, among others.

This mix continues the trajectory seen in prior years—crypto founders and protocol leads in 2024, higher political and retail-finance visibility in 2025—while placing greater weight on capital-markets and asset-management executives in 2026. Organizers have flagged expanded institutional programming tracks still to be announced.

Company and Ecosystem Participation

Exhibitor numbers have climbed from the low-to-mid hundreds in earlier editions to 500-plus in both 2025 and the forthcoming 2026 event. Registrations for the TOKEN2049 Origins 36-hour hackathon and the NEXUS Startup Competition are already running ahead of the previous year. Side-event volume remains at the 1,000-plus level that characterized 2025, turning the surrounding week into a dense cluster of investor meetings, ecosystem gatherings and related summits timed around the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.

With Dubai deferred, Singapore becomes the primary global convergence point for the industry in 2026. The combination of stable high attendance, deeper TradFi representation, and a packed speaker roster positions TOKEN2049 as the year’s largest and most institutionally oriented crypto gathering.

Bitcoin Slides Below $78,000 as Risk-Off Sentiment Intensifies

Published

on

Bitcoin fell below $78,000 on October 30, 2026, as confirmation of the Binance security incident accelerated a broader risk-off move across crypto markets.

On CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin traded at $78,430 with a market capitalization of approximately $1.57 trillion, down roughly 2% over the prior 24 hours and more sharply from earlier levels near $81,000–$82,000. The decline pushed BTC to its weakest levels in more than a month, with some reports showing brief tests of the mid-$76,000s during the sharpest phase of the sell-off.

The drop intensified after Binance disclosed the estimated $6.3 billion hot-wallet breach late on October 29. Leveraged liquidations amplified the move, with figures ranging from hundreds of millions to more than $1 billion in 24-hour windows depending on the snapshot and venue. Broader risk aversion linked to technology-stock weakness and a hawkish tone from the Federal Reserve added to the pressure.

Bitcoin dominance remained elevated, indicating that capital was rotating out of higher-beta assets rather than exiting the crypto market entirely. Analysts highlighted key support clusters in the $77,000–$79,000 range, while resistance stayed firm above $81,000–$85,000. The incident’s market impact is still unfolding as investigations continue and further details on frozen assets and potential recoveries emerge.
