Trump Hosts Crypto Executives at White House, Pushes CLARITY Act and Signals Support

President Donald Trump held a high-profile meeting with leading crypto industry executives at the White House, including representatives from Coinbase, Kraken’s parent company Payward, Robinhood, Ripple, Gemini, and others, while urging the Senate to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. The gathering formed part of a coordinated administration push for clearer U.S. digital-asset rules and reinforced the goal of establishing the United States as the global “crypto capital.”
During the event, Trump called on Congress to pass a “fair version” of the Clarity Act, describing it as powerful structured legislation that would keep America ahead of international competitors, particularly China. He highlighted the potential of crypto technology to create jobs, opportunity, and wealth, and left the door open to sizable U.S. government Bitcoin purchases, stating that any formal recommendations from advisers would be carefully considered. Trump also indicated that CFTC officials were actively exploring pathways to bring platforms such as Hyperliquid into full compliance for U.S. operations.
The meeting coincided with broader regulatory momentum, including recent SEC proposals on tailored crypto offering frameworks, and featured attendance by key regulators such as SEC Chair Paul Atkins and CFTC Chair Michael Selig. Industry participants and observers viewed the optics and specific remarks as a clear signal of constructive policy intent after years of regulatory uncertainty, even as the full legislative path for the Clarity Act remains subject to Senate dynamics and remaining sticking points.
Markets reacted positively in the wake of the gathering. The combination of policy signals and concurrent macro liquidity measures helped fuel the multi-day Bitcoin and altcoin rally, with Bitcoin climbing from the mid-$60,000s through the $70,000s and toward higher levels. The Hyperliquid-related comments in particular drove sharp gains in the HYPE token. Institutional interest via spot ETFs also strengthened amid the improved sentiment.
While passage of comprehensive market-structure legislation is not yet assured, the high-level engagement and explicit presidential support mark a notable shift in the U.S. policy tone toward digital assets.

Super League Shareholders Approve Metaplanet’s 2,100 BTC Deal, Clearing Path for Superplanet US Treasury Vehicle

Shareholders of Nasdaq-listed Super League Enterprise approved all proposals related to Japanese Bitcoin treasury firm Metaplanet’s strategic investment at the company’s 2026 annual meeting on October 16, with results disclosed on October 19. Under the agreement first announced in August, Metaplanet will contribute 2,100 BTC plus $2.5 million in cash via its wholly owned U.S. subsidiary, Metaplanet Holdings, in exchange for approximately 44.86 million common shares (at $3.00 per share), convertible preferred stock with governance rights, and long-dated warrants.
The transaction is structured to give Metaplanet roughly 93–96% control of the company. Upon closing—expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions including Nasdaq filings—Super League will rebrand as Superplanet, Inc. and trade under the ticker SUPA. It will operate as Metaplanet’s U.S.-listed Bitcoin treasury platform while retaining its advertising and media-activation business as a separate operating segment. Metaplanet’s shares face a five-year lock-up, and the firm retains options for further preferred-stock investment of up to $210 million over the subsequent 24 months.
This creates a dual-listed (Tokyo + Nasdaq) corporate Bitcoin vehicle. Metaplanet already ranks among the largest public BTC holders globally, with holdings reported near 43,000–44,000 BTC. The 2,100 BTC contribution, valued at roughly $132 million at the August 14 reference price and about $170 million as of October 16, represents less than 5% of Metaplanet’s total position and will remain within a consolidated entity under its control. The deal had been announced in August, with the BTC contribution’s notional value rising alongside the market since then.
The shareholder approval advances Metaplanet’s strategy of establishing a U.S.-listed Bitcoin treasury platform alongside its Tokyo listing, while preserving Super League’s existing media operations under continued CEO leadership. Closing remains subject to remaining conditions.
