On July 7, 2025, Semler Scientific, a Nasdaq-listed medical technology company, announced the purchase of 187 Bitcoin (BTC) for approximately $20 million, at an average price of $106,952 per coin. This acquisition boosts the firm’s total Bitcoin holdings to 4,636 BTC, valued at roughly $503 million, reinforcing its aggressive Bitcoin treasury strategy.
The purchase, funded through Semler’s at-the-market (ATM) equity offering program, marks its ninth Bitcoin acquisition this year. The company reported a Bitcoin Yield of 29% year-to-date, a key performance indicator measuring the growth of BTC holdings relative to diluted shares. “We continue to grow our Bitcoin arsenal accretively,” said Chairman Eric Semler, highlighting the firm’s commitment to Bitcoin as a primary reserve asset.
Semler’s strategy, inspired by MicroStrategy, has positioned it as the 14th-largest corporate Bitcoin holder, with unrealized gains of approximately $62 million. Despite a 41% stock price drop in 2025, the company aims to amass 105,000 BTC by 2027, signaling strong confidence in Bitcoin’s long-term value.
