Vice President JD Vance Touts Bitcoin at Bitcoin 2025
At the Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas (May 27-29), Vice President JD Vance hailed Bitcoin and crypto as “a way of storing value in the modern digital age.” In his keynote, the first by a sitting U.S. vice president at the event, Vance emphasized crypto’s role as a hedge against inflation and a tool for financial sovereignty. He outlined the Trump administration’s pro-crypto agenda, including a national Bitcoin reserve, the GENIUS Act for stablecoin regulation, and the repeal of restrictive policies like SEC’s SAB 121. Vance urged the 35,000 attendees to stay politically active, crediting crypto’s $250 million in 2024 campaign support for Republican wins. He criticized past regulatory hostility and called for clear rules to keep the $3 trillion industry in the U.S., positioning crypto as key to America’s economic and geopolitical future.
