Terra Classic’s (LUNC) Layer-1 Joint Task Force (L1JTF) has recently announced the successful completion of a crucial upgrade rehearsal on the rebel-2 testnet to version 2.1.0. The move marks a significant step in the team’s second-quarter development goals as it seeks to bring LUNC to parity with Terra 2.0 and Cosmos blockchain.
The update follows a strict timeline set by the LUNC team, which had previously pencilled in May 31 for the testnet upgrade. Their ability to meet this deadline is a testament to their dedication and commitment to achieving their defined objectives.
The news of the successful test upgrade was shared by LuncBurnArmy (LBA), the project manager for the L1 team, on Twitter. According to LBA, the test upgrade was successful, and the results will be shared for community discussion. Further, they anticipate a governance vote before June 7th in preparation for a full upgrade rollout slated for June 14th.
One of the key features included in the v2.1.0 upgrade is the minimum 5% commission for validators. As of the planned June 14th upgrade, all validators will be subject to this minimum commission rate. However, validators who currently have a commission rate of 5% or higher will remain unchanged.
The progressive strides of the Terra Classic team signify a steady march towards a more robust and efficient blockchain infrastructure. It also showcases the team’s intent to keep their blockchain technology on par with leading platforms such as Terra 2.0 and Cosmos.
As the date of the full upgrade draws nearer, the crypto community will undoubtedly be keeping a keen eye on the ongoing developments within Terra Classic’s ecosystem. The outcome of the governance vote and the final upgrade are events that could potentially shape the future direction of this dynamic project.
